Style Tip

Styles should only be worn for 3–4 weeks at a time. Leaving them in too long can cause locs to mat together or lead to thinning. Be mindful and protect your crown!

Moisturize

Moisture Tip: The L.O.C. Method
L = Liquid | O = Oil | C = Conditioner

This is one of the best methods for moisturizing—not just for hair, but also for skin and nails.

Important: Oil alone is not a moisturizer. For best results:

  1. Start by dampening your hair with water (Liquid)

  2. Follow up with an oil of your choice to seal in the moisture

  3. Finish with a leave-in conditioner (optional, but adds extra nourishment)

Consistency is key to healthy, hydrated locs and skin!

3.

Shave

Pro Tip for My Male Clients:
Always schedule your haircut after your retwist. Some barbers may not know which hair to leave out, and cutting too much can thin your edges—eventually leading to loc loss. Protect your locs and keep them thriving!

4.

Prepare

Not everyone retwists every 4 weeks—and that’s perfectly fine. But no matter your routine, I always recommend protecting your crown with a satin or silk loc cap. It helps preserve moisture, reduce frizz, and protect your roots. You can find one at your local beauty supply store.
